The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the purchasing and procurement team by processing purchase orders for requested goods and services and by processing receiving documents. He will negotiate and purchase certain goods or services according to the requisitioner’s requests and will ensure follow-up. He will be in charge of updating the master data of the MM procurement module of SAP.


RESPONSABILITIES

  • Receive and analyse purchase orders;
  • Participate in calls for tenders and requests for proposals in collaboration with the purchasing team;
  • Obtain necessary approvals;
  • Place purchase orders according to the requests received;
  • Obtain confirmation of purchase orders;
  • Follow up on purchase orders in accordance with established procedure and notify the requester of any changes;
  • Ensure compliance with purchasing procedures by requesters and suppliers;
  • Communicate with suppliers to resolve disputes (quantity, deadlines, quality, etc.);
  • Negotiate the price of certain goods and services according to the technical specifications required by requesters;
  • Maintain the register of suppliers;
  • Participate in team meetings;
  • Follow up on invoices and price discrepancies in the accounts payable file;
  • Participate and support the activities of the Health, Safety and Environment Management System.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Collegial degree in supply management, administration. Any combination of education and experience will be considered;
  • Three (3) to five (5) years experience in a similar position;
  • Proficiency in Office Suite software (Excel, Word);
  • Be a member of the ACGA;
  • Knowledge of an ERP, as SAP (asset);
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail;
  • Ability to work on several files at the same time and strong organizational skills;
  • Good management of stress, unexpected events and priorities;
  • Professionalism, team spirit and sense of customer service.
